Document acquisition tips

If you are employed by a company with enough snap to employ a librarian, contact him or her.
Also, many companies have subscriptions to online sources such as ScienceDirect and Ebsco Academic Search. Saudi Aramco., for example, where I worked as a research librarian for 13 years, maintained subscriptions to both services, as well as a number of others. Depending on the terms of the subscription, you often can download the full text of articles you identify during a search. Where the subscription does not include the particular article you need, you can use a credit card to order a copy from ScienceDirect (www.sciencedirect.com).
Otherwise, try TDI (http://www.tdico.com/) or Ingenta (http://www.ingenta.com/). These services will send you a copy of nearly any article you can identify, for a fee.
