Zeopore Catalyst innovations drive a more performant and sustainable refining and petrochemical industry
Hydrocarbon Processing
Leuven (Belgium) - April 7, 2021 - Zeopore successfully builds on groundbreaking research at KU Leuven (Belgium), which focused on advancing mesoporization technology and the economical applicability of mesoporized zeolite catalysts. Today, Zeopore makes current processes in oil refineries and petrochemical plants more performant, sustainable and cost-effective. It offers proven catalytic benefits for key industries including FCC, hydrocracking and dewaxing, which result in more efficient operations and huge financial benefits. Zeopore's zeolite innovations also serve as the fundament in new emerging applications such as the conversions of biomass or waste plastics. After having increased its capital in August 2020, Zeopore is further strengthening its technological position and collaborating with reputable parties towards scaleup and commercial rollout.

Conference Alert: MIT Technology Review sponsored Meet the Innovators (35 under 35)

Introducing: The MIT Technology Review TR35 list of innovators for 2021

MIT Technology Review’s annual list of
35 Innovators Under 35 is now available at https://www.technologyreview.com/innovators-under-35/2021/

Everyone on the list is worthy of attention. But there are a few that jump out at me as having potential use for anyone engaged in the energy industry …

TIP#1: Subscribe to MIT Technology Review. I am sure your company will pay for it. Or, if you are lucky, your corporate library already subscribes.

///////
Ryan Babbush
Efficient quantum simulation algorithms might help find novel, powerful materials.

Amay Bandodkar
His lightweight sensors could make wearable tech more useful and practical.

Nicholas Harris
Shining light through optical chips might be the fastest way for neural networks to make decisions.

Yichen Shen
Optical chips that can make calculations for neural networks are poised to become big business.

Xiao Sun
He designs imprecise—but energy-efficient—AI hardware and software.

Jie Xu
She makes durable, easy-to-manufacture polymer semiconductors for skin-like electronics.

Sara Spangelo
Her tiny satellites could bring connectivity to the remotest places on Earth.

Dorsa Sadigh
She uses simulated environments to teach robots to be better collaborators with people.
///////

And here’s another TIP … When you find a young innovator with an interesting approach to a problem of concern, contact that young innovator. Have a conversation. Establish a relationship. Who knows what amazing ideas he or she will produce over the next few years. You don’t, and neither do they, but thanks to your contact, you will be abreast of emerging developments before competing interests will be.

TIP#2: attend the MIT Technology Review sponsored Meet the Innovators gathering, scheduled for September 28-30, 2021. Details at: https://event.technologyreview.com/emtech-mit-2021/innovators-under-35

Conference Alert: Submit abstract for Sulphur conference

The Sulphur + Sulphuric Acid 2021 is inviting presentation abstracts. This year, the prestigious conference will be virtual.

If you have something useful to say, you might consider participating in this conference.

However, even if you are an experienced conference paper presenter, if you are new to Zoom, you might consider the following…

TIP: Google® how to deliver a conference paper on zoom
Here are two results from the above search string …

Don't try and say too much. Remember that audiences have relatively short attention spans, so keep it simple, explain any technical words, and recap key points if you can. A well structured paper is easier to listen to then a freeform ramble, keep your audience in mind at all times!
