Desulfurization and Biomass

“In saying what is obvious, never choose cunning, yelling works better” -- Cynthia Ozick (born April 17, 1928) American short story writer, novelist, and essayist

Traditional petroleum hydrocarbons are not the only energy sources subject to the desulfurization problem. Biomass is a promising fuel source. However, as the abstract from the following thesis states …

“Biomass gasification is a promising source of fuels. However, hydrogen sulphide, tars and other by-products must be removed from the raw gas because they deactivate downstream reforming and water gas shift catalysts.”

Here is the cite for the thesis, as well as the URL for the full text.
