LARTC 2018, 17-18 October, Santiago de Chile
Our attendees last year
told us they wanted to see even more regional representation. We listened, and
acted to build on the success of 2017’s conference which saw a record breaking
253 delegates in Buenos Aires, including 138 attendees from refineries.
Joining some of last year’s attendees fom YPF, Axion Energy, Pampa Energia,
PDVSA, Petrojam, Refineria Isla Curacao, Refineria de Petroleo Riograndense,
Refipampa, we have headline speakers including:
Patricio Farfan, Gerente de Refinerías, ENAP Rodrigo Abramof, Refining
Operational Efficiency General Manager, Petrobras Federico Garcia Verdier, COO,
Axion
and that’s not all: 52% of our speakers this year are from regional refineries
and petrochemical companies including YPF, Petroperu, Braskem, PDVSA, PEMEX and
Ecopetrol.
Representing Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Venezuela, Mexico and Colombia,
LARTC 2018 is a truly dedicated Latin American refining and petrochemical
event.

Petrobras: Domestic Market Is Best Way To Profit From Oil Refining
--Underpinning domestic market growth is demand for diesel and jet fuel in Brazil, official says
--Petrobras expects strong growth for these products to continue
By Jenny Gross
Dow Jones Newswires
BARCELONA -(Dow Jones)- A refining executive at Brazilian state-run energy giant Petroleo Brasileiro (PBR, PETR4.BR), or Petrobras, said costs associated with transporting oil products to hubs in Europe, the U.S. and Asia make it less practical than using production domestically.
Claudio Romeo Schlosser, Petrobras executive manager of refining, said on the sidelines of the Global Refining Summit in Barcelona that investing in Brazil is the best way to cash in on the country's oil reserves. Petrobras plans to build five new refineries in the next few years so it can meet Brazil's demand for oil products without having to import large amounts of gasoline and diesel.

Isomalk-2SM: C5/C6 Isomerization Process with Benzene Reduction
Isomalk-2 is a low-temperature isomerization technology that has been commercially proven in grassroots applications, revamps of semi-regenerative reforming units, and replacement of other isomerization technologies. This flexible process utilizes a robust platinum-containing mixed metal oxide SI-2 catalyst that works effectively at the low temperatures of 120-140°C (250-285°F), while delivering great stability against the influence of catalytic poisons. Isomalk-2 is a competitive alternative to the three most commonly used light gasoline isomerization processes: zeolite, chlorinated aluminum oxide and sulfated zirconium oxide catalysts, applicable for simple replacement of these catalyst types. This technology has been commercialized in all possible modes of configuration. By applying the full recycle configuration, an isomerate with a 92.5 RON value has been achieved in a world-scale reference unit.

LARTC Annual Meeting, 28-29 February 2012, Miami
We are currently working on the programme and it will be available soon. For speaking opportunities, please contact Vicki Pope at vicki.pope@gtforum.com
Global Technology Forum is delighted to announce the launch of the inaugural LARTC Annual Meeting taking place 28th - 29th February 2012 in Miami.
With 16 years of unparalleled close collaboration with the refining and petrochemical industries, GTF brings the success of their established ERTC and ARTC Annual Meetings to the region of Latin America thus providing the meeting place and platform for the Latin American downstream industry to exchange best practices and learn about the latest technical advancements in refining and petrochemicals. Attendees will include refining, technical and operational management as well as process and technical engineers.
Global Technology Forum has commissioned an advisory board, comprising of industry experts to make the paper selections for the conference. You are now invited to submit one or two original papers for this conference. Acceptance criteria will be originality and technical innovation. At this stage, the only requirements are a working title, subject area and brief description of the proposed content (typically a 200 word abstract).
Preference will be given to papers giving case histories and actual operating experience. We would be pleased to receive abstracts from supply companies that are co-authored with refining companies. Some suggested hot topics for the conference programme are as follows but are not restricted to:
Changing product specifications
ULSD and sulphur reduction technologies
Heavy crude processing and bottom of the barrel upgrading
Catalyst technologies
How to increase jet fuel and diesel production to meet the regions demand
Best practices / refiner case studies
Investments opportunities, what is driving long term strategy, new refining pirojects and joint ventures
Global downstream trends
Regulation impacts
