Aramco’s second Deep Space, Deep Ocean Forum is
scheduled for September 29-30, 2016, at the JW Marriott Houston. The basic
concept is that, since both deep space and deep ocean are extreme environments,
technology and practices developed for one may well have useful applications for
the other.
Here is what the Deep Space, Deep Ocean Forum Web
has to say for itself …

Aramco is hosting its second Deep Space, Deep Ocean
Forum (DSDO 2016) to continue the mission to advance industry excellence.
The event is designed to bring together leaders from oil and gas, aerospace and
other industries to discuss shared operational challenges – especially those
that arise when working in harsh, remote environments – and also encourage them
to collaborate on technological solutions for safety and reliability.
More than 500 senior executives, engineers, scientists, researchers, academics
and others participated in last year’s inaugural event, which received a 98
percent favorability rating. A number of participants connected with technology
partners and are currently working on projects.
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) will continue as a
major contributor in planning and participating in the 2016 event.
