Googling LinkedIn

“I have no money, no resources, no hopes. I am the happiest man alive.” -- Henry Miller (American Author and Writer, 1891-1980)

LinkedIn is a great resource.  I encourage you to join this social network if you have not already done so.

I also encourage you to search it ... using Google®.  LinkedIn has its own search feature, of course.  But the flexibility of the Google search engine makes it easier to find useful stuff.

Here's an example ...

(1) Login to your LinkedIn account, and then …
(2) Open Google in your browser.  Then type in, say ...

linkedin saudi aramco

The results include a list of Saudi Aramco scientists.  Click the hyperlink and it takes you into LinkedIn (which you have already signed in to) and browse the list of 97 Saudi Aramco scientists.

Here are three of them …

Junseok Chang
Title: Research & Development at Saudi Aramco

Sunil Kokal
Title: Senior Petroleum Engineering Consultant at Saudi Aramco

Howard Schmidt
Title: Nanotechnologist at Saudi Aramco

///////

You may be able to do this within LinkedIn, but it is so much easier and faster to Google®.

Try the same search technique with other organizations.  Interesting results appear when you Google the following, for example …

Linkedin shell global solutiuons

Today's tip, then, is bipartite ...

(a) Google ... Whatever souce you are trying to search, if the source's search engine frustrates you, try Googling it instead
(b) Serendipity ... Some of the best stuff on the Web is stuff you stumble upon.  Don't fight it ... embrace it.

///////

Actually, today’s tip is TRIpartite … remember to bookmark the Desulfurization Blog (http://www.desulf.blogspot.com/) for continuings tips on searching the Web for the technology of your choosing.
