Digital
Transformation and AI: Shaping the Future of Pipeline Operations
The panel discussion "Digital Transformation and AI: Shaping the
Future of Pipeline Operations" delves into the transformative power of
digitalization and artificial intelligence (AI) and its potential to improve
pipeline operations. AI, combined with advanced data analytics, machine learning,
and big data management, holds immense promise for enhancing pipeline
efficiency, safety, and reliability. The panel discussion will provide
actionable insights for pipeline operators seeking to embrace digital
transformation – minimizing operational downtime, reducing maintenance costs,
and optimizing pipeline performance.

Conference Alert-Middle East Sulphur Conference 2024
The Irony of Decarbonization: A Possible Sulphur Shortage
Addressing climate change requires the gradual elimination of the production of
fossil fuels. Currently, the production of Sulphur as a waste product from
fossil fuel production provides 80% of the world’s demand for Sulphur.
Sulphur is a critical element in the production of food and green technology.
What to do about the projected Sulphur shortfall?
That is the subject of a fascinating 2022 paper, Sulfur: A potential resource crisis that could
stifle green technology and threaten food security as the world decarbonizes,
published in the Royal Geographical Society’s Geographical Journal.
It would be worth reading before attending the Middle East Sulphur Conference,
scheduled for 20 - 23 May 2024 in Abu Dhabi. Visit https://events.crugroup.com/middleeastsulphur/home
for conference details.
Timesaver TIP:
A quick way to find the 2022 paper, which is open access, is to go to: https://doi.org/10.1111/geoj.12475
